Frequently asked questions
Plain answers about Writerbox and buying software from buyonce.ai.
Is Writerbox a subscription?
No. Writerbox 1 is a one-time purchase. You can keep using the version you bought without an ongoing buyonce.ai subscription.
What does the purchase include?
Your purchase removes reminders for Writerbox 1 and includes compatible Writerbox 1.x updates. The complete app is available during the evaluation and remains usable if you do not buy it.
Can I use Writerbox on multiple Macs?
Yes. One purchase belongs to one person and may be used on that person’s personal Macs, including for professional writing.
Does AI require another account or payment?
AI features require eligible access from a supported ChatGPT or Codex account. That account is separate from your buyonce.ai purchase, and its provider controls availability, limits, and charges.
Where are my files stored?
Your writing stays in files on your Mac. Writerbox is local-first and does not move your documents into a proprietary cloud library.
What happens when Writerbox 2 arrives?
Writerbox 1 keeps working. A future major version may be offered as an optional separate purchase; upgrading will not be required.
Why does macOS warn about the download?
The current release is not code signed or notarized. macOS therefore asks you to confirm the first launch. Control-click Writerbox in Applications, choose Open, then confirm Open again.
How do I ask about a purchase or refund?
Contact support and include the email used at checkout, the product name, and the receipt or transaction reference if you have it.
